Anthropic's IPO Filing and Meta's $95 Billion Financing Push: Hidden Crypto Risks Beneath the AI Capital Surge

Stock News14:20

According to Woofun AI, capital expansion in artificial intelligence is reshaping the market landscape on an unprecedented scale, with Anthropic's listing filing and Meta (META.US)'s massive financing moves setting the industry direction, while the crypto sector seeks a new balance in the tug-of-war between operational risk and capital efficiency.

On October 26, Anthropic submitted an S-1 registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, formally launching its IPO process, with plans to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, marking the start of frontier model companies facing sustained scrutiny from public markets. The prospectus shows the company generated $16.286 billion in revenue in the first half of this year, with a net loss of $80.748 billion over the same period 鈥?of which $72.388 billion came from fair value changes on convertible notes and other financial instruments and was not a cash expense, while operating losses stood at $693 million and compute and infrastructure spending reached about $8.945 billion. The number of shares to be issued and the price range have not yet been disclosed. The public filing puts operating data into the investor review stage, and the listing timing, financing scale and valuation still await subsequent documents, with media predictions not to be treated as issuance outcomes. Analytically, enterprise customer growth needs to be viewed alongside inference costs, compute commitments and cash returns. Leading model capabilities can help win orders, but cannot by themselves show whether each order generates sustainable profit. For chip and cloud vendors, the listing of a major customer will also make investment, procurement and revenue relationships in the supply chain more transparent. The key next step is whether growth can translate into operating leverage, and whether public disclosure can explain how funds are being used.

On the same day, Meta announced the launch of an approximately $35 billion underwritten offering, including about $22.5 billion of common stock and $12.5 billion of depositary shares representing mandatory convertible preferred stock. The company also plans to introduce an approximately $60 billion at-the-market offering program after Class C shares begin trading, expected to start as early as the first quarter of 2027, though no related agreement has yet been signed. The two parts total about $95 billion, with the funds not yet fully received. The financing structure shows that AI infrastructure expansion is simultaneously drawing on operating cash, debt and equity. Analytically, equity financing reduces新增 fixed debt-service pressure while also bringing potential dilution, and the mandatory conversion arrangement defers part of that impact. Compared with the capital operations of crypto treasury companies, both need to explain how new capital enhances per-share value, but their underlying businesses and cash sources differ. What investors really need to compare is the cash return after expansion against the cost of capital, not merely the total financing amount.

Data compiled by Woofun AI shows that on the technology deployment front, Cadence (CDNS.US) launched the Maestro specialized model suite for chip and system design on October 26, with plans to provide early access to some customers in the fourth quarter of this year. The company said the suite is partly based on Nvidia's Nemotron open-weight models and can be combined with design agents, EDA tools and reinforcement learning workflows, supporting both cloud and on-premises customer deployment. The company said preliminary tests showed result quality improved by up to 30% and token efficiency by up to 5 times, outperforming general-purpose foundation models, but it did not disclose the test projects and benchmarks, so the gains cannot be extrapolated to all design projects. It brings AI competition into an environment with clearer feedback. Analytically, chip design can use tools to verify whether timing, power and constraints are met, allowing agents to improve based on engineering results rather than merely comparing whether answers sound expert-like. Allowing on-premises deployment also addresses customer concerns about design data and trade secrets. For the industry, the depth of integration between models and existing tools may be more valuable than a single general-capability ranking. What still needs to be observed is whether verification costs, error handling and delivery cycles improve in real projects.

On the crypto operational risk front, it was reported on October 26 that CoinDCX confirmed bearing a loss of about 15.99 million USDT. The company said some users were still depositing into previously retired wallet addresses, and the service responsible for sweeping funds failed for a period of time, causing funds to accumulate. The relevant addresses had been affected in a July 2025 security incident. The confirmation came only days after the company's initial denial 鈥?CEO Sumit Gupta had called the on-chain anomaly a "false alarm," and on-chain researcher ZachXBT subsequently pointed out that at least one of the addresses was still sweeping funds to an exchange hot wallet between April and May 2026, after which the company published a blog post acknowledging it. How the funds were transferred and by whom was not fully explained in the announcement. The problem was exposed in the exit process for old infrastructure. Analytically, ceasing to display a deposit address does not mean the on-chain address stops receiving funds. As long as the system continues to credit incoming deposits, it must continuously verify sweeping, balances and permission status. The exchange said user balances and active systems were unaffected, which remains the company's stated position. For custody businesses, monitoring retired wallets, escalating anomalies and timely disclosure are just as important as the security of new wallets. If historical risks are not fully cleaned up, they may continue to generate new losses.

Meanwhile, Bitmine (BMNR.US) announced on October 26 that it repurchased about 2.04 million shares over the past week at an average price of $22.48, corresponding to about $45.9 million. At the same time, the company bought 10,452 ETH. Its disclosed holdings as of October 25 reached 6,051,933 ETH. Coin purchases during the same period totaled about $24.6 million, less than half the buyback spending; moreover, weekly ETH additions have fallen from 12,535 to 10,452, slowing for two consecutive weeks, with funds actually tilting toward buybacks rather than being evenly split between the two uses. This provides a concrete case for yesterday's discussion of capital constraints at treasury companies. Analytically, when management believes the stock is undervalued, buybacks may be more attractive than directly buying coins, but the effect depends on the buyback price, net asset value and funding sources. It also reduces cash available for subsequent coin purchases or other spending. Judging the value of a treasury company requires observing total coin holdings, shares outstanding and financing obligations at the same time. Looking only at asset growth makes it easy to overlook whether per-share equity is improving and whether the cash buffer is thinning.

On the regulatory and security front, the OCC encouraged community banks to participate in stablecoin payments. On October 26, the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency called on community banks to apply to become approved stablecoin issuers directly or through subsidiaries. This is a policy statement promoting bank participation, and specific institutions still need to complete application and compliance procedures. South Korea discussed delaying the crypto gains tax again until 2029. On October 26, citing Korean media reports, insufficient access to cross-border transaction data was one of the main obstacles in the discussion. Delaying implementation still requires legislative amendment by the National Assembly and cannot currently be regarded as an arrangement already in effect. The NBA and CFTC signed a memorandum on sharing prediction market information, and on the same day designated Kalshi and Polymarket as the league's "preferred prediction market exchanges," while requiring league and team personnel not to trade NBA event contracts. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced on October 26 that the two sides will communicate regularly and share information to prevent issues such as insider trading and fraud. Information cooperation does not automatically resolve regulatory disputes between states and the federal government. Electrum fixed a fund-theft vulnerability in its transaction acceleration process. A report on October 26 noted that malicious servers could forge unconfirmed transactions and induce users to sign transactions paying attackers when raising fees. Developers publicly disclosed on the 24th that version 4.8.3 contains the fix and confirmed that at least one user lost funds as a result.
