CLP Holdings (00002) has increased the fuel cost adjustment fee for May to 40.4 HK cents per unit of electricity, up 0.6 HK cents from April. This marks the second consecutive month of increases for the fuel adjustment charge. Combined with the base tariff, the total net electricity rate for May will be 141.6 HK cents per unit. The company stated that during the most recent tariff review, the annual fuel cost adjustment was set at 39.4 HK cents per unit, with an additional 1.0 HK cent per unit adjustment applied for May 2026, resulting in the current fuel adjustment fee of 40.4 HK cents per unit. The fuel cost adjustment is automatically revised each month based on the difference between the actual cost of fuel—including oil, natural gas, and coal—and earlier projections, allowing it to reflect changes in fuel prices in a timely manner. The latest increase is primarily due to higher natural gas costs.
