Shares of CCTC (06951) climbed more than 5% during the morning session, last trading up 4.81% at HK$139.40 with turnover reaching HK$102 million. The multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) market, often dubbed the "rice of the electronics industry," has recently entered a price hike cycle.
According to industry reports, multiple MLCC-focused merchants on the first floor of Huaqiang Electronic World noted a dramatic surge in orders, describing the situation as "overflowing with business." They highlighted that high-end MLCCs used in AI applications are experiencing significant price volatility and severe supply shortages. A seasoned industry insider pointed out that positive signals are emerging on the consumer-grade MLCC supply side, particularly as manufacturers prioritize capacity for high-margin AI server-grade components. Whether consumer-grade product prices will sustain their upward trajectory remains to be seen.
Latest research from TrendForce indicates that, fueled by robust AI demand, major Japanese and Korean manufacturers including Murata, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Taiyo Yuden recorded their highest single-month shipments in nearly five years in June 2026. The spillover of consumer-grade orders from these market leaders is benefiting other producers, with channel pricing also trending upward. TrendForce projects that the MLCC supply-demand gap will continue to widen in the fourth quarter, with prices expected to keep rising.
According to CCTC's 2026 interim report, the company's MLCC segment benefited from heightened customer recognition and improved industry conditions during the first half. Prices for certain specifications recovered to reasonable levels, driving significant year-on-year growth in both sales volume and revenue.
