BRETON (01333) announced that its indirect non-wholly-owned subsidiary, MINIERE VERTE SAS (as the client), entered into a construction contract for the Jinchuan Ruwasi Digital Energy Project with STE DE DEVELOPPEMENT DU COMMERCE ET DE CONSTRUCTION (as the contractor) on March 5, 2026. Under the agreement, the contractor will be responsible for civil engineering and installation work for the project, with a provisional total contract value of $17.08 million.
The transaction aims to advance the company’s strategic overseas initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo—the Ruwasi Microgrid Project—into the physical construction phase. This project represents the company’s second flagship endeavor designed to address core energy challenges in certain mining areas across Africa.
According to the company’s announcement dated November 24, 2025, regarding the completion of a placement of new H shares under a general mandate, approximately 70% of the placement proceeds (about HK$168 million) will be allocated to investing in and developing the group’s overseas photovoltaic and energy storage projects. This supports the implementation of the company’s integrated "solar-storage + transport" strategy. The ongoing progress of this project represents a concrete step in utilizing these funds and advancing the strategic direction, as well as realizing the company’s broader business development strategy of "electric equipment + integrated energy" and its overseas expansion plan. The initiative is intended to enhance the group’s comprehensive solution capabilities in the new energy sector.
The successful execution of this project holds significant strategic importance for the group’s expansion into overseas new energy markets and the optimization of its business layout. The company has already completed the project design and equipment procurement phases and is now systematically advancing the construction work.
