On April 23, during the peak booking period for the May Day holiday, Fliggy announced AI partnerships with more than ten travel brands, including Shanghai Legoland Resort, Gubei Water Town, Anji Cloud Grassland, Haihe'an Culture & Tourism, Urumqi Air, 9 Air, Air Macau, and Singapore Airlines. These brands will utilize the "AI Services" capabilities of Fliggy and the Qianwen APP to provide users with smarter and more professional travel services, along with exclusive subsidies and benefits.
To date, over 100 brands have participated in the AI collaboration. In addition to the newly added partners, previously involved brands include China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hyatt Hotels Group, Wanda Hotels & Resorts, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Hengdian World Studios. These brands will offer discounts, instant coupons, complimentary hotel breakfasts, late check-out privileges, and other benefits to Qianwen users, with single-item savings of up to 300 RMB.
For example, when a user asks the Qianwen APP, "Help me book a flight from Beijing to Urumqi on May 11," it immediately understands the request and recommends three flights—JD5217, CA1293, and MU6109—departing at different times. Each ticket displays a "Qianwen Exclusive Discount" of approximately 20 RMB, and users can proceed to confirmation and payment by clicking on the specific flight card.
With the integration of Fliggy Agent, AI-driven service experiences are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Users can conveniently select hotel room types through natural language conversations in the Qianwen APP. If their needs change, the AI can also modify existing orders, assist with cancellations, and check refund statuses.
On April 23, Qianwen also announced the public release of its "AI Services" capability, introducing full-process AI flight booking services. Taking China Eastern Airlines as an example, users can not only perform basic operations like flight inquiries and ticket purchases but also select seats and check in directly.
AI-assisted travel booking is gradually becoming the preferred "service" method in the era of AI Agents. During the Spring Festival holiday this year, for instance, Fliggy's AI order volume increased by over 800% compared to the previous period, with AI ticket bookings surging more than 24-fold. Among these AI orders, the average transaction price per flight ticket exceeded 700 RMB, while the average nightly hotel rate approached 300 RMB.
Professor Li Bin from the School of Tourism Sciences at Beijing International Studies University noted that the significant changes brought by AI may reshape the existing product distribution landscape, thereby offering hospitality and tourism enterprises more channel options and operational opportunities. He emphasized that these businesses should seize this opportunity to enhance their digital and intelligent channel management capabilities, thereby improving operational efficiency. It is foreseeable that the rapid development of AI will profoundly impact the entire cultural and tourism industry ecosystem and may become a critical turning point for the supply side of the sector.
