Energy Sector ETFs Reach Record Peaks

On Tuesday, a number of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) focused on the energy sector hit new milestones. The SPDR Energy Select Sector ETF (XLE) reached an all-time intraday high, a record for the fund since its inception in 1998, with its latest gain approaching 1%.

The Vanguard Energy Index ETF (VDE) also climbed approximately 1%, setting a new intraday record since its launch in September 2004. In addition, the SPDR S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production ETF (XOP) marked a multi-year high.

Simultaneously, energy stocks such as Phillips 66 (PSX), Marathon Petroleum (MPC), and Valero Energy (VLO) all achieved new 52-week price highs on Tuesday.
