ASML to Distribute One-Time 20,000 Euro Bonus to Global Workforce

Deep News07-18

ASML Holding NV will provide a one-time bonus of 20,000 euros (approximately $22,862) to its employees worldwide. This move by the global leader in lithography systems comes as soaring artificial intelligence demand drives record sales, placing it among several chip industry firms awarding bonuses to staff.

ASML Holding NV stated via an email announcement on Friday that it plans to grant stock awards to employees on January 1, 2027. Eligible staff who remain with the company through early 2030 will then receive the corresponding equity rights.

This initiative follows similar actions by multiple chip manufacturers. As the global AI infrastructure construction boom continues, clients including Samsung and SK Hynix have already distributed bonuses to their employees to share the benefits of performance growth fueled by AI demand.

Companies benefiting from the surge in AI infrastructure investment are facing increasing pressure to return a greater share of record profits to their workforce. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company also pledged in May this year to raise its average employee profit-sharing bonus by over 30% by 2027.

ASML Holding NV just this Wednesday raised its full-year sales forecast for the second time this year and announced expansion plans to meet the persistently strong AI demand.

The company, headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands, is the world's sole manufacturer capable of producing high-end lithography equipment such as advanced extreme ultraviolet (EUV) systems. These tools are indispensable for manufacturing advanced semiconductors.

ASML Holding NV currently has a global workforce of approximately 45,000 people. Concurrently, the company is advancing an internal restructuring plan aimed at streamlining management layers, reducing bureaucratic processes, and enhancing operational efficiency.
