Sunshine Insurance Group Company Limited (“Sunshine Insurance”, 06963.HK) has released the unaudited results of its wholly-owned subsidiary Sunshine Life Insurance Corporation Limited (“Sunshine Life”) for the three months ended 31 March 2026.
Operating performance • Operating income totalled RMB8.28 billion, underpinned by RMB4.48 billion of insurance revenue and RMB2.49 billion of investment income. • A fair-value loss of RMB1.57 billion and foreign-exchange loss of RMB23.20 million weighed on results, but a tax credit of RMB0.22 billion lifted bottom-line profitability. • Net profit came in at RMB1.11 billion, while operating profit stood at RMB0.94 billion.
Balance-sheet highlights (31 March 2026) • Total assets reached RMB600.60 billion. Key components included RMB141.04 billion of financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss, RMB298.56 billion of debt securities at fair value through other comprehensive income, and RMB49.91 billion of equity securities in the same category. • Insurance contract liabilities amounted to RMB527.49 billion, representing 87.8 % of total liabilities. • Total liabilities were RMB560.32 billion, leaving total equity at RMB40.28 billion.
Cash-flow dynamics • Operating activities generated a net inflow of RMB23.42 billion, driven mainly by RMB40.81 billion in premium receipts. • Investing activities provided a further RMB16.18 billion net inflow, as proceeds from investment disposals (RMB75.04 billion) exceeded new purchases (RMB62.09 billion). • Financing activities recorded a net outflow of RMB24.28 billion, reflecting bond interest payments, borrowing repayments and a RMB21.55 billion reduction in repurchase financing. • Cash and cash equivalents closed the quarter at RMB30.85 billion, up RMB15.28 billion from the start of the year.
Solvency disclosure In accordance with bond-market regulations, Sunshine Life will publish its first-quarter 2026 solvency report on the designated mainland bond-market websites. Sunshine Insurance will subsequently release consolidated solvency indicators via the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and its corporate website.
