Can Tea Fungus Grow in Oriental Leaf? NONGFU SPRING Advises Immediate Disposal if Abnormal

Deep News12-12

On December 12, social media users shared images showing translucent white fungal clusters in opened bottles of Oriental Leaf tea, with some reaching the size of a ping-pong ball. Many netizens treated these formations as "natural tea pets."

Other users posted cultivation guides, claiming that leaving half-consumed Oriental Leaf at room temperature for days could spontaneously produce flocculent or clustered fungal bodies in the tea liquid, stating "no inoculation needed—it grows on tea nutrients alone."

Responding to these reports, NONGFU SPRING's official customer service told Sina Finance: "This is simply a regular beverage. Consumers should immediately stop consumption if any abnormalities are observed."
