Special Topic: 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference & the Second Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo. The 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference was held in Shanghai from October 20 to 22, under the theme "Building a Resilient Future Together: Global Governance, Innovation-Driven Growth and Industrial Upgrading."
Wu Yifan, General Manager of the Yang Shengtang cosmetics brand, said in her speech, "I accept all labels, because when you have all labels, it proves that in fact there are no labels, and you will not be defined."
Wu Yifan stated that the core consumer group in the beauty and health sector is concentrated among women, but the brand does not deliberately create a female-oriented narrative, nor does it refuse to impose rigid labels on men and women. The core of Yang Shengtang is to provide a better healthy lifestyle.
She proposed a counterintuitive product approach: rather than catering to already clearly defined market demand, the brand seeks to uncover future pain points that consumers have not yet perceived, relying on long-term R&D accumulation to overcome technical challenges. "When a need has already become a very clear need, that need no longer needs to be satisfied."
Supporting this kind of forward-looking innovation is inseparable from the team's and the company's years of technological accumulation. In her view, IP and brands should not be bound to gender narratives, and should ultimately return to the product itself. "Do not let any so-called label or rule turn you into someone with your hands and feet tied," she said.
