Agricultural Product Wholesale Price Index Shows Slight Increase on July 3

China's "Agricultural Product Wholesale Price 200 Index" recorded a modest rise on Wednesday, July 3, according to monitoring data.

The index reached a level of 110.37, marking an increase of 0.14 points compared to the previous day. The wholesale price index for the "vegetable basket" category of products also moved higher, reaching 109.94, which is 0.18 points above yesterday's level.

As of 2:00 PM today, the national average wholesale price for pork stood at 14.68 yuan per kilogram, up 0.8% from yesterday. Beef prices were unchanged at 66.31 yuan per kilogram, while lamb prices saw a slight decrease of 0.4% to 64.15 yuan per kilogram.

Egg prices increased by 1.0% to 9.51 yuan per kilogram, and the price of dressed chicken rose 1.9% to 17.49 yuan per kilogram.

The average price for 28 key monitored vegetable varieties was 4.25 yuan per kilogram, representing a rise of 1.2%. The average price for six key fruit varieties held steady at 7.32 yuan per kilogram, showing no change from the prior day.

For aquatic products, crucian carp prices fell 0.4% to 20.48 yuan per kilogram. Carp prices edged up 0.5% to 14.87 yuan per kilogram. Silver carp prices saw a significant jump of 4.1% to 10.42 yuan per kilogram, while the price of large hairtail dropped 0.6% to 42.46 yuan per kilogram.

Among the 46 key monitored varieties in the domestic fresh agricultural product wholesale markets, the top five gainers compared to yesterday were silver carp, Chinese cabbage, lettuce, carrot, and celery, with increases of 4.1%, 3.4%, 3.1%, 2.6%, and 2.5% respectively.

The top five decliners were watermelon, cabbage, large yellow croaker, banana, and Fuji apple, with price drops of 3.7%, 2.2%, 2.0%, 1.1%, and 0.9% respectively.
