At the ISC.AI2026 14th Internet Security Conference held in Beijing on June 24, themed around AI agents disrupting security, the event's honorary chairman, Professor Wu Hequan, delivered a keynote address.
He highlighted that as AI agent technology rapidly integrates into vertical sectors like finance, manufacturing, healthcare, and government services, becoming a core component of real business systems, its industrial application is compelling a shift in security capabilities from traditional "product delivery" to "continuous service."
Professor Wu analyzed a current practical challenge facing the industry: most users across various sectors lack the capability to independently develop AI agent defense systems. Meanwhile, traditional security vendors remain accustomed to selling standardized products like firewalls, detection tools, and compliance reports, leading to a significant mismatch between supply and demand. He clearly stated that in the era of AI agents, digital security companies must transition from "selling products" to "selling capabilities."
He further elaborated that this transformation means security firms need to provide managed security services covering the entire lifecycle of AI agents. Wu emphasized that this is a paradigm shift that must be crossed. The first to complete the transition from a product vendor to a service provider will gain a strategic advantage in the new competitive landscape of AI agent security.
Wu Hequan stated that the concept of AI agents disrupting security is not merely a slogan but a technological reality already in progress. Faced with the relentless wheel of technological advancement, the industry cannot afford to stand still and wait. It must proactively understand and master AI agent technology. Only through faster technological iteration, more forward-thinking strategic planning, and more pragmatic industrial services can it secure the initiative in this profound transformation.
