SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has commenced trading on the Nasdaq exchange in what is poised to be the largest initial public offering in history.

On June 12, 2026, at the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York, a live feed from the company's Starbase headquarters in Texas was broadcast on large screens prior to the official listing ceremony, featuring remarks from CEO Elon Musk.

In a CNBC interview, SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell stated that she believes the public has a "serious misunderstanding" of Musk. She noted that during pre-IPO engagement, numerous investors significantly revised their perceptions of him.

Shotwell recounted, "Many investors walked away saying, 'I never knew the real him before.' My response was: 'This is the person I have worked with and followed for 24 years, and I have immense respect for him.'"
