The 7th "China's Hidden Champions" Evergreen Symposium was held in Beijing from December 18 to 19, focusing on the theme of building a financial powerhouse and strengthening the supply chain for hidden champions. Liang Yao, Vice Chairman of Yangzhou Yangjie Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd., attended and delivered a speech.
Liang Yao noted that most industrial semiconductor companies are currently concentrated in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region. He advised investors to pay close attention to the sector's market performance next year.
He emphasized that China's industrial semiconductor industry is still benefiting from import substitution opportunities. In the global industrial semiconductor market worth RMB 300 billion, half (RMB 150 billion) is overseas, while the other half is in mainland China. However, within the domestic market, RMB 30–50 billion worth of products still rely on imports. Local manufacturers, including Yangzhou Yangjie Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd., are accelerating efforts to replace these imports.
Liang acknowledged competition among domestic firms but pointed out that they are collectively capturing market share previously held by foreign players, leading to a positive overall development trend. However, in 3–5 years, the industry will enter a fiercely competitive phase, and only those companies that stand out will emerge as true leaders.
He highlighted that China has already established a complete industrial semiconductor supply chain. Regarding overseas expansion, Liang explained that companies often have no choice but to go global, which in turn forces them to accelerate their transformation into global enterprises.
