Shanghai's municipal government has unveiled a comprehensive blueprint for modern logistics development, targeting the year 2030 as the milestone for transforming the city into a worldwide logistics and supply chain epicenter.
The official plan, published by the General Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, outlines a strategic roadmap to establish a modern logistics system characterized by seamless internal-external connectivity, enhanced convenience and efficiency, value-added services, and smart, green operations.
Under this initiative, Shanghai aims to refine its logistics network structure, which spans from gateway-type hubs to regional bases and community-level nodes. The city intends to optimize its logistics industry structure and improve overall operational quality and effectiveness, thereby boosting the international competitiveness of its logistics services, strengthening industrial support capabilities, and enhancing the livelihood security functions of logistics.
By the end of the decade, the city aspires to solidify its status as a core node in the global logistics and supply chain network, positioning itself as an international logistics hub and a leading global supply chain management center.
