Elon Musk Seeks Full Custody of 13th Child After Mother's Transgender Support Remarks

Deep News01-14

American billionaire Elon Musk recently stated that he will file for full custody of his son with Ashleigh St. Clair following her public remarks expressing support for transgender individuals.

Ashleigh St. Clair is the mother of Musk's 13th publicly acknowledged child. Musk posted on X on Monday that he would attempt to gain custody of his son, whom he shares with the 27-year-old influencer and author.

"Given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy, I will be filing for full custody today," Musk wrote on X in reply to another user. This user had suggested that the billionaire should seek full custody after St. Clair changed her position to support the transgender community.

Despite Musk's claims, it remains unclear whether St. Clair has ever indicated plans for their son to undergo gender transition surgery. To date, she has only publicly apologized for her past statements about the transgender community.

St. Clair, who revealed last year that she and Musk welcomed their child in September 2024, responded over the weekend on X to a user who asked her to explain her past "blatantly transphobic remarks."

"I am filled with immense guilt for my actions. What makes me feel even more guilty is that my past words may have caused additional pain to my son's sister," St. Clair wrote, seemingly referring to Musk's other child, Vivian, who is transgender.

"I don't know how to make up for these things, but I have been working very hard in private to learn and to advocate for the trans community that I hurt," she continued.

St. Clair indicated that she had not previously voiced support for transgender rights because she was hesitant to speak out, fearing it would be perceived as "hypocritical."

"Even if my reply triggers right-wing hysteria, I am truly sorry," St. Clair added. "Please tell me how I can help."

In August of last year, St. Clair spoke candidly on a podcast about her protracted custody battle with Musk, describing the past year as essentially "unplanned career suicide."

St. Clair is currently suing for sole custody of their son. In March of last year, Musk denied St. Clair's allegations of "financial retaliation." He stated on X that he had paid child support "even though unsure" if the child was his, and that he had "given Ashleigh $2.5 million and will give her $500,000 annually."

St. Clair responded to Musk's post, accusing him of "refusing" a paternity test. "Elon, we asked you to confirm paternity via a DNA test before our child (the name you chose) was even born."

"And you weren't giving me money; it was child support you deemed necessary... until you withdrew most of the funding to control me and punish my disobedience," she continued. "But the one you are truly punishing is only your son."
