Storage concept stocks rallied sharply, with the CSOP SK Hynix Daily Leveraged (2x) Product jumping over 21%. SK Hynix reported third-quarter revenue of 104.6 trillion Korean won and operating profit of 83.3 trillion Korean won for 2026, both hitting record highs for the same period and exceeding market consensus by approximately 7% and 9% respectively. The company also announced a shareholder return plan worth up to 100 trillion Korean won (approximately US$75 billion). Analysts at JPMorgan stated that the quarterly results beating expectations combined with the new shareholder return plan are expected to drive stock sentiment from previously bearish to positive.
The optical communications sector was strong, with Zhongji Innolight rising more than 8%. Recently, the landing of Anthropic's prospectus eased market uncertainty about AI commercialization and funding sources. Meanwhile, Meta's forward offering of common shares received approximately 5 times subscription, also indicating that quality tech leaders still possess strong financing capabilities. Zhang Yidong, member of the Executive Committee and Chief Economist at Haitong International, pointed out that overall, if Asian deleveraging comes to an end, concerns about AI hardware ease, and capital investment by large tech companies can be supported by earnings and cash returns, the market will have conditions for a phased rebound.
Dongshan Precision fell 0.75% on its first day of listing. According to the company's allotment announcement, despite introducing 20 cornerstone investors for strong support, the public offering recorded only 0.52 times subscription, and margin financing subscription was only 0.39 times, making it the new stock with the lowest public subscription multiple in Hong Kong since February last year, with all retail investors who participated in the IPO achieving 100% allotment.
