MARA Holdings shares gained 3% in overnight trading. In a Wednesday post on X, MARA, formerly Marathon Digital, wrote that it acquired its latest batch of Bitcoin at an average price of $95,395 per bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 34,794 BTC, valued at approximately $3.3 billion. The company reported buying an additional 703 bitcoins after an initial purchase of 5,771 bitcoin last week.
Crypto stocks also rose in overnight trading. SOS Limited rose 9%; MicroStrategy rose 4%; CleanSpark and Riot Platforms rose 3%; Coinbase rose 0.9%.
Chip stocks gained in overnight trading after Bloomberg News reported that looming US restrictions on the Chinese semiconductor industry may be less severe than expected. ASML, Nvidia, and AMD both rose more than 1%.
Archer Aviation shares jumped another in overnight trading. Archer Aviation's stock was one of the leaders on the NYSE before the Thanksgiving holiday, amid news that company insiders have increased their stakes in the urban air mobility specialist. The stock price hit new 52 week highs on the day before ending 11.9% up in the regular session.
The U.S. FDA has declined to approve Applied Therapeutics govorestat, its treatment for the rare metabolic disorder classic galactosemia. The stock is down 74.3% in overnight trading.
Grifols SA shares sank another 11.3% in overnight trading. Canadian fund Brookfield said on Wednesday it has dropped its plan to take over Spain's Grifols due to a disagreement over the pharmaceutical company's value, while Grifols said it concurred with the decision.
