SINOPEC SEG buys back 472,000 H shares; cumulative August repurchases rise to 3.97 million shares

SINOPEC Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. (SINOPEC SEG) filed a Next Day Disclosure Return to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 20 August 2026, detailing the latest progress of its ongoing share-repurchase programme.

On 20 August 2026 the company repurchased 472,000 H shares on the Exchange at prices between HKD 5.015 and HKD 5.05 per share, for a total consideration of HKD 2.38 million. All of the shares bought back are designated for cancellation.

Including the transactions conducted on 17–19 August 2026—when 1.50 million, 1.50 million and 0.50 million shares were bought back at volume-weighted average prices of HKD 5.1574, HKD 5.1274 and HKD 5.1108 respectively—repurchases awaiting cancellation now stand at 3.97 million shares. This volume represents 0.24 % of the company’s issued share capital as at 5 June 2026, the date on which shareholders approved the current repurchase mandate.

The four trading-day series of buybacks involved a total cash outlay of approximately HKD 20.36 million, equivalent to an average cost of HKD 5.12 per share.

After the latest transaction, SINOPEC SEG’s issued share capital remains at 1,646.80 million shares, with no treasury shares outstanding. The company is authorised to repurchase up to 164.68 million shares under the mandate and is subject to a 30-day moratorium—running through 19 September 2026—on issuing new shares or transferring any treasury shares following the repurchases.
