Sichuan's Animation Film Success: Why the Province Dominates Domestic Box Office Charts

Deep News07:10

Recently, the film "Eight Immortals!" surpassed 1.985 billion yuan at the box office, joining the "Nezha" series, also made in Sichuan, to sweep the top three spots for domestic animated films.

On the same day, the 2026 China Animation Centennial and High-Quality Development of the Animation Industry Exchange Conference was held in Ziyang, gathering over 350 industry leaders from across the country to pay tribute to a century of Chinese animation in a unique way.

This double celebration is attributed not only to Sichuan's policy support and favorable business environment but also to its abundant talent resources and vast market.

Today's fourth page explores why Sichuan continues to produce hit after hit.

The largest inbound duty-free shop in the central and western regions, the Chengdu Tianfu International Airport inbound duty-free store, recently opened.

The store offers goods in three main categories: tobacco and alcohol, perfumes and cosmetics, and food, featuring hundreds of brands and thousands of product types.

Foreign tourists and Chinese travelers returning from abroad can both shop there.

It is noteworthy that the total tax-free shopping amount at inbound duty-free stores at ports, combined with overseas duty-free purchases, must not exceed 8,000 yuan.
