On June 26th, the Yixing campus project of Jiangnan Film and Television Art Vocational College officially broke ground in Zhoutie Town, Yixing City.
The commencement of this project marks the effective implementation of the town-campus cooperation in Zhoutie Town, further optimizing Yixing's vocational education layout, and will inject new talent momentum and developmental vitality into the high-quality growth of the cultural and creative industries in Wuxi and Yixing.
The newly launched Yixing campus of Jiangnan Film and Television Art Vocational College is situated along Zhouyang Highway near the Zhoushan Lake Tunnel exit in Zhoutie Town, Yixing, boasting a superior geographical location and convenient transportation access.
The project is planned to cover 320 acres with a total investment of 1 billion yuan. Construction is set to be completed in one phase within two years, with a total floor area exceeding 150,000 square meters.
Upon completion, the campus will have the capacity to accommodate 5,000 students, establishing itself as a specialized hub for cultivating film, television, and cultural creative talent, deeply rooted in Yixing and radiating influence across Southern Jiangsu.
It was reported that in May 2025, the People's Government of Zhoutie Town, Yixing City, and Jiangnan Film and Television Art Vocational College held a project launch event for their cooperative initiative, finalizing the project's cooperation plan, construction objectives, and developmental positioning.
This groundbreaking ceremony signifies the project's official transition from the planning and design phase into the substantive construction stage, laying a solid preliminary foundation for the project's foundation-laying ceremony scheduled for July 12, 2026, with the overall construction pace progressing steadily and methodically.
According to the plan, the Yixing campus will establish a high-standard modern vocational education campus, constructing four core teaching facilities: a comprehensive building, a news center, a cultural creative workshop, and a professional performing arts center.
Supporting facilities will also be built, including student dormitories, a food plaza, a comprehensive service center, and standardized sports fields, creating a fully functional, industry-education integrated, and distinctly characteristic modern film, television, and cultural creative vocational education park.
The groundbreaking of this new campus represents a crucial strategic move for Jiangnan Film and Television Art Vocational College to expand its educational space, increase its student capacity, and elevate its academic standards.
