On July 14th, He Zhiqi, Executive Vice President of Byd Company Limited (BYD COMPANY), posted online: a colleague shared a statistic with me showing that from January to May this year, a total of 542 new car models were launched, averaging 3.6 new models per day.
This is completely insane. These are automobiles, where a single new model often requires an investment exceeding 1 billion yuan and a development cycle of over two years. Yet, the market heat for a model can't even be sustained for three months; it cools down before it even gets warmed up.
With so many new models entering the market, the overall domestic market is still down by 20%. This competition is no longer just intense; it's brutal.
However, competition can also foster prosperity. The domestic automotive market is like a super gymnasium; only by enduring the rough and tumble can one build a stronger physique.
