Hebei Province Metrology Institute Partners with International Organization to Build High-Level International Certification Platform

Deep News09-05

Recently, the Hebei Province Metrology Supervision and Testing Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Hebei Metrology Institute") held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony with Germany's TÜV Rheinland Group in Shijiazhuang, officially establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership. This cooperation aims to jointly create a high-end metrology certification service platform that is based in Hebei, radiates to surrounding areas, and connects with international markets, providing strong technical support and certification assurance for the instrument and meter industry in Hebei Province and surrounding regions to "go global," opening new channels for Hebei manufacturing to access European and global markets.

Zhang Xuejun, Director of Hebei Provincial Market Supervision Administration, stated that this cooperation will promote the deep integration of "EU standards" with "Made in China," providing key technical support for the high-end, intelligent, and green development of Hebei's manufacturing industry. The Hebei Metrology Institute will use this cooperation as an opportunity to accelerate results transformation, optimize service processes, continuously learn from advanced international experience, and strive to enhance metrology testing capabilities to support high-quality economic development in Hebei Province.

At the event, the Hebei Metrology Institute signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Germany's TÜV Rheinland Group, and the Hebei Metrology Institute officially became an authorized testing laboratory for TÜV Rheinland Group's EU Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) notified body. The acquisition of this qualification marks international recognition of the technical capabilities of the Hebei Metrology Institute, and also means that instrument and meter products from Hebei Province, such as water meters, heat meters, and gas meters, will no longer need to be sent abroad to Europe for cross-border testing. They can now complete testing and certification that meets EU standards right at their "doorstep," allowing companies to significantly shorten certification cycles, substantially reduce cross-border certification costs, and comprehensively enhance the international competitiveness and market response speed of Hebei manufacturing.

The two parties will also conduct in-depth collaboration in multiple areas including jointly building laboratories, hosting high-end technical seminars, expanding carbon footprint certification, and promoting professional talent development and academic exchanges. By combining international resources with localized service advantages, they will jointly help enterprises precisely connect with regulatory and technical requirements of the EU and other international markets, achieve product quality upgrades and green low-carbon transformation, and enhance their voice and competitiveness in global markets.

Focusing on specific industrial needs, the Hebei Metrology Institute also signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with Huizhong Meter Co., Ltd. and Hebei Huatong Gas Equipment Co., Ltd., which will help companies shorten product time-to-market and accelerate new product development and international certification processes.

Representatives from participating companies believe that this cooperation greatly improves the convenience and economy of international product certification, realizes localized internationally recognized testing services, provides significant opportunities for Hebei instrument and meter companies to expand into global markets, and will surely promote more high-quality "Hebei-made" products to reach the world.
