BYD Achieves Seamless Production-to-Port Logistics for Global Vehicle Exports

Deep News03-05 20:39

At Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone, BYD Company Limited's new energy vehicles are transported directly from the factory to an adjacent railway terminal via a dedicated logistics corridor. This system enables zero-transporter movement from assembly lines to loading bays, significantly reducing short-distance transportation costs. This highly efficient process is taking place in the Western Operation Area of Zhengzhou International Inland Port.

As a core component of the world-class comprehensive logistics hub planned by provincial authorities, this area is becoming a key engine for deep integration of logistics and industry. The Western Operation Area, also known as the New Energy Vehicle Supply Chain Service Center, saw its first-phase project fully completed and operational by the end of 2025. Leveraging its proximity to BYD's Zhengzhou manufacturing plant, the facility effectively meets the storage and transfer needs of upstream and downstream component suppliers in the new energy vehicle industry.

The park's operator, Henan International Logistics Hub Development and Operation Co., Ltd., has established partnership relationships with BYD's industrial chain partners, covering both complete vehicles and components segments while providing logistics services for parts and vehicle transfer transportation. Through continuous collaboration with companies including BYD's supply chain partners and China Railway Special Cargo Services, the park has developed deep cooperative relationships.

Simultaneously, the park is actively expanding new channels for the China-Europe Railway Express, having established strategic partnerships with industry leaders including China Railway Special Cargo, China Railway Container Transport, Sinotrans, and COSCO Shipping. These collaborations aim to develop rail-sea intermodal and road-rail intermodal transport channels, enhance multimodal transport distribution capabilities, and improve the volume and quality of Henan Province's China-Europe Railway Express services.

Currently at Zhengzhou International Inland Port, BYD's new energy vehicles are neatly arranged in China-Europe Railway Express containers, reaching 40 countries and 140 cities across Europe within just 15 days. To further enhance hub efficiency, Zhengzhou International Inland Port is promoting the shift from road to rail transport for vehicles and bulk commodities, while developing specialized automotive logistics functional zones based on the Western Station of the international port.

Additionally, the park is actively promoting standardized multimodal electronic waybills and researching international settlement and trade financing pathways based on the "single document system." This approach transforms transportation information into financial elements, providing financial empowerment for the new energy vehicle industry and strengthening supply chain security.

In 2025, the core functional area of Zhengzhou International Inland Port officially commenced operations with an annual handling capacity of 10 million tons. Its supervised operation facilities have also become operational, establishing a logistics system with Zhengzhou as the main hub radiating to nearly three-quarters of China's territory. At Zhengzhou Airport Economic Zone, hub advantages are rapidly transforming into industrial advantages. With wheels rolling from the banks of the Yellow River to global destinations, this development exemplifies inland provinces' high-level opening-up and high-quality growth.
