Cybersecurity Firm SentinelOne Introduces Trustworthy Automated Response With Guardrails for Independent Security Operations

Deep News08-03

AI security company SentinelOne (NYSE: S) announced on Monday the addition of governed closed-loop response capabilities to its Singularity platform, delivering a trustworthy automation solution for security operations. Building on the Purple AI autonomous investigation feature, which was previously made available to all customers, this update extends automation into the response phase.

Security teams can now establish predefined boundaries, determining which actions the AI performs autonomously and which require human approval. The entire process, from alert to response, maintains auditability and control. This capability is already operational in production environments.

Since its launch in June, the Purple AI autonomous investigation feature now processes over 8,500 critical autonomous investigations daily. More than one-third of eligible customers have enabled this feature. Among these users, Purple AI investigates nearly three times the number of alerts compared to manual analysis by security analysts.

SentinelOne Chief Product Officer Chris Corde stated that security teams require AI capable of acting reliably within defined boundaries, and that governance mechanisms are essential for achieving autonomous response in a real-world security operations center. Over a single weekend, Purple AI investigated more than 5,000 critical alerts across the customer base, each completed within minutes.

The new capability, built on Purple AI autonomous investigations, leverages Singularity Hyperautomation workflows to enable investigations triggered from any process, directly incorporate full investigation reports into automated logic, and invoke reusable response modules. The Hyperautomation workflow capability is expected to be generally available by the end of the current quarter.

These features are embedded within core components of the Singularity platform, requiring no additional integrations or tools. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, SentinelOne provides security protection for nearly one in five Fortune 500 companies and hundreds of Global 2000 enterprises.
