Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (YOFC) saw its stock price soar 7.29% during intraday trading on Monday, reflecting significant investor optimism.
The surge follows comments from company President Zhuang Dan at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, where he stated that as CPO technology becomes the core solution for AI data center optical interconnection, demand for polarization-maintaining fiber is expected to grow 10 to 20 times in the next one to two years. He further projected that Datacom's share of global fiber optic cable demand will rise from under 10% currently to over 50% by 2030.
The current rebound also reflects oversold technical conditions, as the stock had recently pulled back from a previous surge driven by a strong first-half profit alert, combined with renewed optimism about AI-driven expansion in fiber demand.
