Building a Shared Future: Gansu and Hong Kong Unite for Growth, Says Business Leader

Deep News07-12

Gansu province is a land brimming with investment opportunities, where the abundant resources and supportive policy environment have solidified our confidence in long-term development, said a business leader attending the 32nd Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair.

Xu Weitian, Executive Director of Hong Kong-listed BUILD KING HOLD and Chairman of Tianjin Huiji Dadi Investment Co., Ltd., shared these views during the Gansu-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Industrial Cooperation and Matchmaking Conference. BUILD KING HOLD is a major infrastructure construction firm listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Main Board, with operations spanning airports, tunnels, rail transit, and municipal engineering.

In 2018, the company established Tianjin Huiji Dadi Investment as its investment platform. It has since developed a series of centralized steam supply projects for industrial parks in cities like Zhangye, Jiujuan, and Jinchang. Several heat source stations and supporting steam pipeline networks are already operational, serving key industrial zones along the Hexi Corridor in Gansu. These projects have effectively boosted local tax revenue and employment, creating a win-win situation for corporate growth, regional income, and industrial upgrading.

Xu noted that during their investment and operations in Gansu, the company has deeply appreciated the attention and support from the provincial Party committees and governments at all levels towards Hong Kong-funded enterprises. Departments such as the United Front Work Department, the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Foreign Affairs Office, and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office have proactively provided services and helped resolve practical difficulties in project advancement. Local governments have also implemented a range of pro-enterprise policies, including job retention subsidies and talent grants, fostering a stable, transparent, and predictable business environment.

Looking ahead, Xu stated that the company plans to build upon and enhance its existing operations while actively expanding into new sectors such as new energy and energy conservation. The goal is to deeply integrate into Gansu's high-quality development journey and make greater contributions to deepening economic and trade cooperation between Gansu and Hong Kong, promoting shared development for both regions.
