The 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Summit will take place in Shanghai from October 20 to 22 under the theme "Building a Resilient Future Together: Global Governance, Innovation-Driven Growth and Industrial Upgrading."
The event will bring together more than 300 top participants from around the world, including representatives of United Nations agencies, Nobel Prize and Turing Award laureates, senior executives of leading domestic and international companies, and experts from authoritative think tanks, who will engage in high-level dialogue on the real challenges and opportunities of global sustainable development, build cross-sector consensus and put forward diverse and practical development approaches.
The Sustainable Global Leaders Summit is hosted by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, co-hosted by the Beijing Office of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation, and organized by Sina Finance and the Beijing Representative Office of the World Green Design Organization, making it China's most globally influential sustainable development gathering.
This year's summit focuses on cutting-edge and hot topics, including AI and human development, climate change and regional responses, and Chinese companies going global, with multiple keynote speeches, high-level dialogues, thematic discussions and closed-door exchanges designed to bring together top minds.
The summit, formerly known as the ESG Global Leaders Summit, has been successfully held five consecutive times since its launch in 2021 and has continued to upgrade itself over time.
In addition, as an important extension of the summit's efforts to promote industrial implementation and public engagement, the second Green Industry and Sustainable Consumption Expo is being held at the same time in the Shanghai Expo Park.
The expo focuses on green industry and sustainable consumption, bringing sustainable concepts into real industrial and consumer scenarios through a concentrated display of cutting-edge green technologies, innovative products and solutions.
According to the summit organizing committee, Xie Wenhong, China head of the Climate Bonds Initiative, has confirmed that he will attend the 2026 Sustainable Global Leaders Summit and take part in a discussion on global climate adaptation strategies from early warning to action.
