Swedish atomic layer deposition technology company Nanexa announced in a statement that it has entered into a pharmaceutical technology cooperation agreement with Novo Nordisk with a maximum value of up to 1.165 billion euros.

Novo Nordisk has obtained a global exclusive license to Nanexa's atomic layer deposition (ALD) drug delivery technology platform for specific therapeutic peptide drugs, with indications covering obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Novo Nordisk will be responsible for the global development and commercialization of the technology.

The agreement includes an upfront payment of 615 million euros and potential milestone payments.

Nanexa stated that the agreement also provides for royalty payments on future product sales at a low single-digit percentage rate.
