GIANT BIOGENE (02367) dropped over 4%, falling 4.15% to HK$58.9 with trading volume of HK$272 million as of press time.
On the news front, Bloomage Biotechnology Corporation Limited recently released an investor relations activity record dated September 22, providing an official response to the previously highly-watched matter of "supporting Dr. Hao Yu." In the record, Bloomage Biotechnology disclosed that it has collaborated with multiple third-party testing institutions, including the National Institute of Metrology, to conduct tests on related products from relevant companies. The results showed that dozens of test reports all indicated that the recombinant collagen protein addition amounts in the related products failed to meet standards. Bloomage Biotechnology stated that it "has submitted dozens of test reports to the National Medical Products Administration."
Notably, the National Cyberspace Administration previously listed "Big Mouth Doctor" as a typical case in network environment rectification. In May this year, beauty blogger "Big Mouth Doctor" Hao Yu published accusations claiming that GIANT BIOGENE's Kefumei "collagen stick" contained only 0.0177% recombinant collagen protein, far below the 0.1% "non-trace addition" standard, and lacked the core amino acid glycine. GIANT BIOGENE quickly denied the claims, stating that the product was compliant and internal testing results far exceeded 0.1%. On June 1, Bloomage Biotechnology published support for Hao Yu. GIANT BIOGENE then claimed it received an "apology statement" from the testing institution used by Hao Yu, indicating that it "never authorized Hao Yu to use the report."
Subsequently, both sides engaged in multiple public exchanges until June 23, when GIANT BIOGENE issued a statement acknowledging that its "existing quality standards, testing methods, and labeling in certain aspects have gradually revealed their limitations."
