NetEase Donates HK$10 Million to Support Disaster Relief in Hong Kong's Tai Po

NetEase announced today a donation of HK$10 million to aid disaster relief efforts in Hong Kong's Tai Po district. On the afternoon of November 26, a severe five-alarm fire broke out at Hung Fuk Court in Tai Po, resulting in significant casualties and property damage, drawing widespread concern from all sectors of society.

The funds will be allocated to support emergency rescue operations, temporary housing arrangements, post-disaster community recovery, and psychological counseling for affected residents. NetEase expressed deep condolences for the victims and paid tribute to the heroic rescue teams who risked their lives in the line of duty. The company pledged continued collaboration with relevant parties to help restore normalcy for those impacted.

In related efforts, Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun announced via Weibo that the Xiaomi Foundation Hong Kong has donated HK$10 million for emergency relief. Tencent Foundation also pledged HK$10 million for urgent aid, temporary shelter, supplies, and emotional support. ByteDance, Ant Group (along with AlipayHK), and Alibaba each contributed HK$10 million, while Alibaba separately committed an additional HK$20 million. The Jack Ma Foundation donated HK$30 million to assist affected families, firefighters, and emergency responders. XPeng Motors donated HK$5 million, and BYD (Hong Kong) contributed HK$10 million for medical aid, emergency housing, and reconstruction.

The collective efforts underscore solidarity in supporting Tai Po's recovery.
