On November 27, a train loaded with soybeans in open-top containers departed from Handan International Land Port in Hebei Province, heading for Tianjin, marking the official launch of the Handan International Land Port Railway Dedicated Line. This new logistics corridor further strengthens connectivity in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The dedicated line, with a total investment of approximately 760 million yuan, consists of three major components: the railway line, supporting facilities, and a comprehensive freight yard. The railway spans 8.9 kilometers, accompanied by a 200,000-square-meter freight yard and stacking area, as well as 100,000 square meters of warehouse space. Designed with an annual transport capacity of 5 million tons and a container handling capacity of 300,000 TEUs, the line connects directly to major rail routes such as the Beijing-Guangzhou and Handan-Huanghua lines. It offers services including bulk cargo, general cargo, automobile transport, full-container train operations, as well as loading, unloading, warehousing, and distribution.
As a critical link between the national railway network and ports/industrial parks, the dedicated line eliminates the "last-mile" challenge in rail transport, enabling seamless cargo movement while significantly reducing intermediate handling and improving overall logistics efficiency.
Handan International Land Port, the first inland port under Hebei Port Group, boasts the largest and most comprehensive public railway freight yard in central and southern Hebei. Moving forward, the port aims to establish high-speed domestic freight routes connecting Handan with Chengdu-Chongqing, Kunming, and Guangzhou, while expanding global multimodal transport channels to become a new hub for Hebei's export-oriented economic growth.
