China Shenhua Energy Company Limited reported that No. 3 power generation unit of China Energy Guangtou Beihai Power Generation Co., Ltd. (in which China Shenhua holds approximately 52% equity interest) has successfully completed a 168-hour trial operation and been transferred to commercial operations.
The Beihai Phase II project is situated in Xinggang Town, Tieshan Port District, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and consists of two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical single-reheat coal-fired power generating units. It is designated as a key project within Guangxi’s “14th Five-Year Plan” for energy development. The project incorporates ultra-clean coal-fired power generation, deep peak shaving, and flexible operation, with a designed coal consumption rate of 266.86 g/kWh and zero discharge of wastewater and solid waste.
According to the announcement, construction work on No. 4 power generation unit of Beihai Phase II remains on track and is expected to enter operation in December 2025. The full commissioning of this project is intended to raise regional power supply stability, meet increasing electricity demand, and support economic and social development in the region.
