Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. China Invests in Semiconductor Equipment Firm

Deep News07-20

Recent business registration updates indicate that Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc. China (AMEC), through its subsidiary AMEC (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., has completed an equity investment, becoming a new shareholder in Shanghai Jiyi Technology Co., Ltd.

This transaction was part of a broader capital increase and shareholding structure change for the company, which also saw the introduction of the Shanghai Xinlianju Integrated Circuit Industry Private Equity Fund as an additional investor. Following this capital injection, Shanghai Jiyi Technology's registered capital has been raised to 5.1683 million yuan.

Post-investment, the company's shareholder roster now includes the original operating entities, Shanghai Jimo Electronics and Shanghai Yanquan Technology, alongside the two new strategic investors: AMEC and the industrial fund. This combination creates a shareholder structure that synergizes industry leadership with specialized industrial capital.

Public records show that Shanghai Jiyi Technology was established in April 2015, with Yang Ping serving as its legal representative. The company's core business is focused on the integrated circuit manufacturing segment, specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of plasma equipment and vacuum thermal technology-related semiconductor equipment. Its products directly support wafer fabrication processes, presenting clear potential for industrial chain synergy with AMEC's core etching equipment business.

AMEC is a China-based, globally-oriented provider of advanced microfabrication equipment, offering highly competitive high-end equipment and quality services to the integrated circuit and broad semiconductor industries. The company's plasma etching and chemical vapor deposition equipment are critical for manufacturing various micro-scale and nano-scale devices.

This strategic investment by AMEC into a specialized equipment manufacturer is expected to open up channels for technical collaboration across the upstream and downstream equipment supply chain. Leveraging AMEC's established customer channels and process development expertise could accelerate the validation and adoption of Jiyi Technology's plasma and vacuum equipment within wafer fabs. Concurrently, the involvement of the industrial fund is poised to provide stable financial support for the company's medium-to-long-term research and development efforts and production line expansion.
