Baiyin City in Gansu Jointly Strengthens Protection Network for Edible Agricultural Product Quality and Safety

Deep News10-26

Three departments in Baiyin City, Gansu Province, have joined forces to reinforce the safety framework for edible agricultural products.

To safeguard public health and protect the development of local agricultural brands, the Baiyin City Food Safety Committee Office, the Market Supervision Bureau, and the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau recently issued a joint notice on strengthening publicity for edible agricultural product quality and safety.

The notice focuses on full-chain supervision through six key measures, aiming to crack down on illegal additives and promote social co-governance.

It requires all levels of government to treat publicity as a crucial tool for implementing food safety responsibilities and enhancing public awareness.

The publicity efforts will cover four main areas: popularizing laws and regulations, guiding safe practices from farm to table, warning against illegal consequences through typical cases, and encouraging public participation via reward systems for reporting violations.

More than 20 easy-to-understand slogans have been released, covering five major scenarios including planting, breeding, circulation, and sales.

Additionally, a notice on cracking down on illegal additives in edible agricultural products was issued, specifying prohibited actions in five stages: planting and breeding, harvesting and processing, purchasing and storage, transportation, and sales.

A tiered reward system for reporting violations has been implemented, with public access to hotlines 12315, 12345, and the national food safety insider reporting system.

The notice demands that food safety committees at all levels integrate this publicity into their agendas alongside industrial development and rural revitalization.

Through ongoing education, it aims to guide producers and operators toward compliance, encourage consumers to consume rationally and supervise actively, and build a co-governance system involving government regulation, enterprise self-discipline, social coordination, and public participation.

Baiyin City will use this initiative to intensify publicity and maintain strict oversight, making edible agricultural product quality and safety a highlight of local agriculture and a solid guarantee for high-quality economic and social development.
