A report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas indicates that U.S. employers announced 60,620 layoffs in March, bringing the year-to-date total to 217,362.
By region, the East reported 14,555 announced layoffs, the Midwest 10,851, the West 25,963, and the South 9,251.
