According to information from People.cn, Yang Yi has been appointed as the Director of the Jiangxi Branch of the People's Daily. Yang, born in January 1968, is a male member of the Communist Party, holds a master's degree, and is a senior editor. He began his career in August 1997 as an editor in the General Editing Department of the People's Daily. From October 2005 to September 2010, he served as the deputy head of the news section in the General Editing Department, then as the chief editor of the sixth news section starting in September 2010, and later as the chief editor of the economic news section in June 2017. In June 2022, Yang was appointed Deputy Editor-in-Chief of People.cn Co., Ltd., and in February 2023, he became a director and deputy editor-in-chief. On September 20, 2025, People.cn announced that Mr. Yang would no longer serve as a non-independent director and deputy editor-in-chief. The previous director of the Jiangxi Branch was Ye Fan.
