The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has recently launched the 2026 New Year and Spring Festival "Taste Local Delicacies, Seek Festive Flavors" consumption promotion campaign. The initiative calls for further implementation of the "Agricultural Product Consumption Promotion Plan," leveraging the peak holiday shopping season to introduce practical measures that stimulate consumption. The campaign aims to enhance supply-demand alignment, innovate consumption scenarios, expand market space, and effectively boost agricultural product consumption to better meet urban and rural residents' festive demand.
The campaign focuses on five key areas: 1. **Promoting Local Specialty Brands**: A curated list of festive local specialty products will be released, encouraging supermarkets and e-commerce platforms to establish dedicated sections. Businesses are urged to innovate holiday products, offering nutritious and festive agricultural goods to cater to diverse consumer needs.
2. **Organizing Themed Events**: Activities such as "Local Specialties in Communities, Scenic Spots, and Commercial Districts" will be organized. Wholesale and farmers' markets will host festive fairs, while major e-commerce platforms will hold online shopping festivals and livestream sales to bring high-quality local products to households.
3. **Enhancing Agri-Tourism Integration**: Combining traditional customs, intangible cultural heritage, and rural cultural activities, the campaign will showcase distinctive agricultural products and promote winter rural tourism routes. Interactive experiences like farming activities, processing demonstrations, folk culture, and homestays will create immersive holiday consumption scenes.
4. **Promoting Healthy Consumption**: The campaign will emphasize "Healthy Eating and Balanced Diets," addressing common dietary concerns during holidays. It will advocate for reduced oil, increased legumes, dairy, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and seafood consumption. Stricter quality supervision will ensure safe agricultural products, with targeted inspections in key regions.
5. **Facilitating Consumption Assistance**: Leveraging regional cooperation and social support mechanisms, the campaign will encourage purchases of agricultural products from poverty-stricken areas through vouchers, point redemptions, and discounts, fostering a warm festive atmosphere.
The Ministry, in collaboration with cities like Beijing, Tianjin, and Guangzhou, will officially launch the campaign on December 11 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center.
