Tongzhou District: Full Coverage of Ideological Education Vice Principals in Schools

Since last year, Tongzhou District has focused on integrating ideological and political education across educational levels by appointing university experts and professors as ideological education vice principals in primary and secondary schools, systematically advancing regional educational innovation.

The district initially appointed 28 experts and scholars from universities such as Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, and Beihang University, who hold positions in core departments like party committees and schools of Marxism, to serve as ideological education vice principals in 28 pilot schools for reform and innovation in integrated ideological education.

As one of Beijing's first pilot zones for reform and innovation in integrated ideological and political education, Tongzhou District launched the construction of these pilot schools in April 2024, completing the挂牌 for 28 schools and gradually building a collaborative network for ideological education spanning all educational levels.

Serving as a "bridge" between universities and local schools, the work of these vice principals encompasses the entire process of ideological education.

To date, Tongzhou District has achieved 100% coverage of ideological education vice principals in its primary and secondary schools, with these vice principals conducting over 400 sessions of curriculum guidance and teacher training within schools.

Changping District: Science Vice Principals Take Primary Students into University Labs

From last September to this March, Changping District also appointed a group of science vice principals. These "guides for scientific innovation" within schools have thoroughly activated the development momentum of science and technology education on campus.

In September 2025, Changping District appointed 12 experts from regional universities and research institutes as science vice principals.

In January 2026, Changping Experimental School appointed Li Hui, a professor from the School of Automation at Beijing Information Science & Technology University, as its science vice principal.

In March 2026, Changping No.1 High School appointed Zhang Liang, an associate professor from the School of Aeronautical Science and Engineering at Beihang University and an instructor for the university's model aircraft team, as the school's science vice principal.

Currently, Changping District has essentially achieved full coverage of science vice principals in primary and secondary schools, making such a position a "standard feature" for every school.

The appointees mainly include experts from district universities, research backbones from the Future Science City, and professionals from research institutes, forming a reasonable personnel structure with high professional alignment, providing effective support for the development of science education in each school.

In Changping District, science vice principals are not merely nominal titles; they genuinely mobilize local scientific innovation resources.

For instance, Wu Yunfeng, the science vice principal at Beijing Normal University Experimental Primary School Future Science City Campus, is a senior engineer at the Sixth Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

He led a team to co-establish a "Future Engineers - Electronic Information Club" with the school, promoted the school's appointment of 10 additional researchers as校外辅导员, and designated the institute's graduate school as a practical base.

Students visit the research institute, act as "junior electronic technology experts," and plant the seeds of aspiration to serve the country through science during these interactions.

Zhang Liang, the science vice principal at the Xiguan Campus of Changping No.1 High School Education Group, is an associate professor at Beihang University's School of Aeronautics.

He spearheaded the construction of a "Campus Micro Wind Tunnel Exploration Laboratory," created the "Beihang Science and Technology Lecture Hall," facilitated exchanges with Beihang graduate students, and helped students prepare for aerospace competitions, truly bringing university resources into the campus.

Li Jiqing, the science vice principal at Huilongguan Central Primary School, is a professor at North China Electric Power University.

They appointed Wang Chen and Jia Nanfei, associate professors from the university's School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, as science vice principals for Huairou No.1 Primary School and Huairou No.1 High School, respectively.

The two science vice principals will fully utilize their professional advantages, actively carry out diverse science activities, stimulate students' scientific interest, cultivate innovative spirit and practical abilities, and contribute to the development of science education in Huairou's primary and secondary schools through concrete actions.

Beyond science vice principals, Huairou District has also strengthened deep cooperation with the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.

Previously, five teachers from the academy served as arts vice principals, entering schools such as Beijing 101 Middle School Huairou Science City Campus and Qiaozi Primary School, providing professional guidance in opera普及, club development, curriculum research and development, arts-infused ideological education, classroom teaching, and stage practice.

Through deep cooperation with universities, Huairou District has not only introduced high-quality science resources and professional talent, bringing new concepts and development opportunities to primary and secondary school science education, but has also built comprehensive arts development pathways for schools and directed quality arts resources towards mountainous and rural schools.
