A relevant official from the Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reported on the development of modern rural industries in the suburbs. The city has cumulatively developed 890,000 mu of high-standard farmland. Grain production has achieved rapid growth for five consecutive years, with output increasing from 305,000 tons in 2020 to 596,000 tons in 2025, significantly enhancing stable production and supply capacity. The contribution rate of agricultural scientific and technological progress has reached 77%, leading the nation in comprehensive technological strength. 598 economically weak collective villages achieved poverty alleviation three years ahead of schedule. The per capita disposable income of rural residents reached 42,012 yuan.
Regarding key tasks for the next phase, the official revealed that efforts will focus on ensuring stable production and supply, developing the agricultural Zhongguancun initiative and establishing the city as a "seed industry capital," promoting diversified rural industrial integration, fostering business entities, and increasing farmers' incomes. Centered on demonstration zones under the "Hundreds and Thousands Project" and key rural tourism areas, the city will improve agricultural product marketing and service systems, actively develop rural e-commerce, and vigorously promote dedicated sections or prominent labels for "locally produced, fresh suburban goods." Twenty agricultural product processing projects will be implemented to promote local value-added processing of agricultural products. Deepening the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, the city will leverage high-quality rural resources to create distinctive rural leisure tourism zones and cultivate influential, sustainable, viral rural cultural tourism brands.
