BYD's South Korean subsidiary announced on Tuesday its plan to sell over 10,000 vehicles in the country this year, representing a 64% increase compared to 2025.

According to BYD Korea, 2025 was the first full year of the company's operations in the country, during which it sold a total of 6,107 passenger vehicles.

The company stated in a press release, "2025 was a honeymoon period where BYD worked closely with dealer partners to lay the foundation, and this year will mark the first year of BYD's full-scale entry into the South Korean passenger vehicle market."

BYD currently offers three models in South Korea: the Atto 3 compact SUV, the mid-size Seal sedan, and the mid-size Sealion 7 SUV.

The company revealed plans to add three new models to its lineup this year: a rear-wheel-drive version of the Seal, a Dolphin compact hatchback, and a model equipped with BYD's DM-i plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) technology.

To boost sales, BYD intends to expand its retail network in South Korea to 35 showrooms and 26 after-sales service centers by the end of December.

In March of last year, BYD officially joined the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA), aiming to strengthen its market position in South Korea, Asia's fourth-largest economy.
