Future Data Group Limited announced the appointment of Dr. Liu Xiao as an independent non-executive director (INED) effective 8 April 2026.
Dr. Liu, aged 43, is a professor of ophthalmology with more than ten years’ experience in clinical practice and artificial-intelligence-assisted diagnosis, focusing on retinal diseases and myopia control. She holds a Doctor of Medicine in Ophthalmology from The Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University (2013) and has been an associate chief physician since 2021 and an associate professor since 2022 at the same hospital. Her international experience includes visiting-scholar roles at Flinders University in Australia (2013) and the University of Louisville in the United States (2016-2018).
Under the two-year appointment letter, Dr. Liu will receive a director’s fee of HK$10,000 per month. The term is subject to retirement by rotation and re-election in accordance with the company’s articles of association and the GEM Listing Rules.
The newly appointed INED holds no shares or related interests in Future Data Group, has no other listed-company directorships over the past three years, and maintains no relationships with existing directors, senior management, or substantial shareholders. The company confirmed her independence under Rule 5.09 of the GEM Listing Rules.
Following this appointment, the board comprises three executive directors (Tuen Hei Ching, Lee Seung Han, Bai Yicong), one non-executive director (Tao Hongxia), and four independent non-executive directors (Chan Kin Ming, Lam Chi Cheung Albert, Leung Louis Ho Ming, and Dr. Liu Xiao).
