Stock News06-17

Schroders Capital has appointed Bob Paterson as the Head of European Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) and Significant Risk Transfer (SRT) Investments. In this newly created role, Paterson will lead the origination and execution of ABF and SRT transactions across Europe, the UK, and Australia, reporting to Michelle Russell-Dowe, Co-Head of PDCA and Global Head of SP&ABF.

He will also oversee Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) business operations in Europe and the UK. Paterson was previously with Manulife CQS Investment Management, where he played a pivotal role in building the ABF platform and driving growth in the SRT business.

He brings to Schroders Capital over 25 years of experience in the UK, European, and US markets, with a strong track record in originating, distributing, and fundraising for complex structured credit strategies. Prior to joining CQS, Paterson held senior positions at Lloyds Bank for over a decade and also worked at Morgan Stanley in New York and London.

Commenting on the appointment, Russell-Dowe expressed great pleasure in welcoming Bob to the team. She described him as exactly the type of investor who thrives within a flexible framework to dynamically capitalize on market opportunities. His experience, leadership, and senior influence will further strengthen Schroders Capital's global footprint and continue to advance the development of its local investment teams in London and Zurich.

Paterson stated he was honored to join the SP&ABF team at Schroders Capital. As the ABF and SRT markets continue to evolve and expand, he looks forward to collaborating with the team to deepen the platform further and deliver strategies that meet clients' growing needs for yield, diversification, and structurally robust credit exposure.
