Z.AI's stock surged 5.05% during intraday trading, extending a powerful rally from the previous session when the stock had already jumped over 10%. The move comes amid growing excitement over the company's artificial intelligence pipeline.
The primary catalyst is the premature leak of the company's next-generation model, GLM-5.3. On August 3, the official documentation page for the model was briefly accessible to the public, sparking speculation about a significant performance leap. The current flagship model, GLM-5.2, already ranks as the top open-source model on the Artificial Analysis benchmark, trailing only proprietary models from Anthropic and OpenAI. The leaked GLM-5.3 is expected to further cement Z.AI's position among China's leading frontier AI labs.
Beyond the model leak, analysts have also highlighted the company's strong valuation floor. A recent deep analysis noted that government and enterprise private deployment revenue accounted for 73.7% of total revenue in 2025, creating high switching costs and a durable competitive moat. This, combined with Morgan Stanley maintaining an Overweight rating and citing overly pessimistic market sentiment on commercialization, has provided additional upside momentum for the stock.
