China Starch trims free-float with HKD 1.07 million on-market buyback

China Starch Holdings Limited reported the repurchase of 6.00 million ordinary shares on 29 September 2026. The shares, acquired on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange at prices between HKD 0.177 and HKD 0.180, were bought for an aggregate HKD 1.07 million, implying a volume-weighted average cost of HKD 0.1775 per share.

Following the transaction, the company’s outstanding share count (excluding treasury shares) fell by 0.11% to 5.67 billion. Treasury shares rose to 138.42 million, while total issued shares remained unchanged at 5.81 billion.

The repurchase forms part of the mandate approved on 12 May 2026, which authorises China Starch to buy back up to 596.45 million shares. Cumulative purchases under this mandate now total 268.52 million shares, representing 44.50% of the authorised limit and 4.50% of the company’s issued share capital at mandate approval.

Under Hong Kong Listing Rule 10.06(3)(a), China Starch is restricted from issuing new shares or disposing of treasury shares until 29 October 2026.
