EV shares mixed on Thursday. Li Auto jumped over 6%; XPeng Inc., NIO gained more than 4% while Tesla slid 1.3%.
The CEO of Li Auto believes that smart cars are simple robots, and that the company will eventually get into the more complex field of humanoid robots.
The company's involvement in humanoid robots is “definitely 100 percent in probability,” Li Xiang, founder, chairman and CEO of Li Auto, said in response to a question at an AI Talk event yesterday.
But the time to get involved in the field is not now, Li added.
Tesla said the construction of its Shanghai mega factory will be completed at the end of the year, Xinhua reported Wednesday.
The factory will produce 10,000 units of Tesla's energy-storage batteries, Megapack, every year after its production begins in the first quarter of 2025.
The batteries to be produced will have an energy storage equal to about 40 gigawatts.
About 1.45 billion yuan was invested into the factory, which has an area of approximately 200,000 square meters, the report said, citing the administration of Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
