On August 15, Shanghai Lingang Holdings Co.,Ltd.'s first batch of autonomous intelligent connected taxis officially opened for public commercial operation. The service currently covers 58 locations including universities, office areas, and commercial districts in Lingang's main urban area, with operating hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.
Residents can make reservations through the "Lingang Travel" mini-program by clicking "Zhixing Intelligent Connected." The mini-program displays license plate information and vehicle route information. The pricing structure is as follows: a base fare of 16 yuan for trips under 5 kilometers, and 4 yuan per kilometer for distances exceeding 5 kilometers, with no additional charges.
To date, the Lingang New Area has opened 245 roads covering 551.7 kilometers of autonomous driving test routes across a 386-square-kilometer integrated urban-industrial development zone. A total of 22 companies with 364 vehicles have conducted road testing, demonstration applications, and driverless testing, with 41 vehicles having obtained driverless road testing licenses and 14 vehicles receiving demonstration operation qualifications.
The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization revealed that Shanghai will systematically expand autonomous driving open areas, aiming to achieve full coverage of autonomous driving test roads throughout Pudong New Area by the end of this year, while promoting openings in Fengxian, Minhang, and other districts.
