Recently, the "Mei-Jiao-Ping" project, part of the East Guangdong Natural Gas Trunk Pipeline "County-to-County Connection Project," has been successfully commissioned and put into trial operation. Clean and highly efficient natural gas has now successfully reached Jiaoling County and Pingyuan County in Meizhou City via the pipeline network. The commissioning and operation of this project not only marks the end of the history where these two counties lacked access to trunk pipeline natural gas but also injects powerful "green momentum" into the high-quality economic and social development of the East Guangdong region. The "Mei-Jiao-Ping" project, implemented by the National Pipe Network Group Huannan Company, is a vital component of the natural gas trunk pipeline network in East Guangdong. The project originates from the Meizhou Gas Transmission Station, with its endpoints located at the Pingyuan Terminal Station and the Jiaoling Terminal Station respectively. It comprises two pipelines—the Pingyuan Branch and the Jiaoling Branch—with a total length of approximately 93 kilometers and a designed annual gas transmission capacity of 150 million cubic meters. Since its initiation, the construction team has faced numerous challenges, including complex mountainous terrain, variable geological conditions, and significant construction difficulties. Adhering to principles of scientific planning, precise implementation, and meticulous organization, the team systematically overcame a series of technical bottlenecks and management challenges. By upholding high standards and strict requirements, they ensured the steady progress of the project, achieving dual compliance in both project quality and construction safety. Compared to traditional non-pipeline gas supply methods, pipeline-delivered natural gas offers distinct advantages such as stable supply, economic cost, high safety and efficiency, and clean environmental performance. Following its operation, the project will effectively optimize the local energy consumption structure and enhance the quality of life for residents, while also providing a stable and reliable clean energy guarantee for industrial development in both counties.
