Musk: SpaceXAI could take the lead in about 6 months if strong acceleration continues

Musk told a netizen, "I am cautiously optimistic that SpaceX will launch a model reaching the Fable/GPT-6 level within two to three months."

Some netizens were skeptical of this, replying, "SpaceXAI's momentum is gone. In two to three months, Anthropic and OpenAI will come out with even better products."

Musk responded, "We will keep accelerating. Our AI research and development has only been underway for 3 years, while Anthropic and OpenAI have been doing it for 6 to 10 years. If our acceleration (second derivative) remains strong, SpaceX will be able to take the leading position in about 6 months."

He said that once the level of intelligence far exceeds what is required for a certain type of task, adding more intelligence becomes meaningless.

He also said that hardware is very difficult. Rapidly bringing massive computing power online is extremely hard. SpaceX has already demonstrated outstanding capability in this regard, and will only do better in the future.
