On Friday, nonferrous metals-related stocks experienced a broad uptick, with Southern Copper Corp (SCCO.US) surging more than 8% to lead the sector's gains.
Freeport-McMoRan Inc (FCX.US) also advanced by 8%, while Alcoa Corp (AA.US) climbed over 4% and Century Aluminum Co (CENX.US) rose more than 3%.
Additional major miners joined the rally, with BHP Group Ltd (BHP.US) gaining 3%, and both Rio Tinto Group (RIO.US) and Vale SA (VALE.US) adding over 2%.
